Retail sales climb 0.7 percent in March (AP)

After robust sales in March, there are signs that consumers are already spending less. And a trifecta of problems rising gas prices, a rougher housing market and the specter of higher interest rates are likely to make the retail business even tougher in the months ahead. Federated, which operates Macy's and Bloomingdale's, posted a modest same-store sales increase of 2.3 percent, below the 3.3 percent estimate from Wall Street.
